Electrical Designer

CG Automation & Fixture (CGAF) is a leading manufacturer of automated secondary equipment, fixtures, gauges and tooling for the automotive and appliance industries. Located in Comstock Park, MI (just north of Grand Rapids). We have immediate day (1st) Shift openings for a highly experienced Electrical Designers. This position will create electrical designs to a blend of customer and CGAF standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Interface with Project Engineers and customers in design reviews.
• Check accuracy of all design products
• Interrogate the design for flaws in the process
• Design any actions (moving component) within the machine.
• Design the remaining aspects of the machine concerning pneumatics, hydraulics, climate control, disassembly for shipping and machine manuals.
• Coordinate the look and function of products.
• Modify and refine designs, using working models.
• Design in a timely manner

Preferred Qualifications:

• Minimum 4 years of experience in electrical design and AutoCAD AE required.
• Broad knowledge of CAD and systems processes.
• Able to achieve results with others through communication, motivation and mentoring.
• Able to communicate effectively with customers as well as with all levels within the organization.
• Personal computer skills including the use of MS Office
• Ability to work in fast paced team environment.
• Will require some travel.
